This stylish, historic brick-built eatery is located in Hakodate’s popular bay area. Fresh seafood, filling seafood bowls and other delicacies await you at Hakodate Bay Gastronomy Club.

Gaya Bay Area Branch is located in the Hakodate Bay Gastronomic Club. It is a stylish restaurant in Hakodate’s historic brickwork.




Close to popular tourist attractions such as the Red Brick Warehouses and the former Postal Service’s Hakodate Meiji Kan, and adjacent to the La Vista Hakodate Bay Hotel, the hotel is approximately 12 minutes’ walk from Hakodate Station. It is a 5-minute walk after getting off at Uoichiba-dori Station, the second stop on the tram from Hakodate Station.

A large U-shaped counter is placed in the centre of the restaurant, where you can relax (tables and small seating are also available).

Gaya’s strength lies in its ability to source directly from the group’s seafood wholesalers, including hairy and king crabs,
Seasonal fresh seafood, meat and vegetable dishes from the Hakodate suburbs can now also be enjoyed in the Bay Area.

Live crab dishes

The three major crabs of Hokkaido (king crab, snow crab and hairy crab) can be enjoyed raw, boiled or grilled.

Boiled crab

Boiled hairy crabs are served with a knife. The rich miso is delicious!

Grilled seafood

A mix of the day’s catch, including crab legs, prawns, scallops and grilled fish, grilled over charcoal!
