How to Enjoy Autumn Leaves in Yoichi

The fruit in Yoichi is famous in Hokkaido. You can have a harvest experience of prunes in September, grapes, pears, and apples in October, while the autumn leave are in season. In addition, you can enjoy salmon, flounder, yellowtail, shrimp, Botan shrimp and squid on the foreshore during this time. Speaking of Yoichi, the autumn leaves of "Cape Siripa" first catches your eyes. The cape protrudes into the sea, which is also a landmark for shipping. There is Mt. Shiripa that you can also hike up. The autumn leaves in the sports park along the Yoichi river and in the Nikka whiskey factory are beautiful. The expressway between Sapporo and Otaru has been extended to Yoichi, it now takes approximately 55 minutes (on the Shiribeshi Expressway). Nikka Whiskey Yoichi Distillery
It has been featured in NHK's popular morning drama series "Massan". This is the story of "Japan's first full-fledged single malt whiskey" being born after hardship in Yoichi seeking the Japanese malt. "Takezuru" and "Yoichi" are the representative whiskeys of Japan, and they are still produced at the Yoichi Distillery, where you can, while visiting, enjoy tasting various whiskeys.
